So
many of us run and run and run and the fact is, we are tired. We think busyness equals godliness. But here is a fact: You can’t keep
running! At some point you are going to
tip over the hurdles that are placed before you.
As I read the Scripture I read about
the idea of rest. Even in the creation
account in Genesis, God created the world in 6 days, on the 7th he
rested. Now obviously, God didn’t need
the rest, but He rested to show us how important it is to rest.
When was the last time you
rested? Are you too busy? Today’s Bible passage to focus on is found in
Mark 6:30-32
30 The apostles gathered around Jesus and
reported to him all they had done and taught. 31 Then, because so many people were coming and going
that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”
32 So they went away by themselves in a boat to
a solitary place.
There
are times that you need to pull over and pull into the filling station and fill
up. There are times that you need to
plug into Jesus and recharge the batteries.

What
will you do? For the health of you, your
family, your church, your work, your soul, rest. Jesus said, come to Him who are weary and burdened
down and He will give you rest. Right
now if you are tired, run to Jesus and then stop and rest.
